Bumping to corners. Some fabric weakening to spine crease where it meets the back cover. Gift inscription on front free endpaper. Tissue guard on frontice illustration is present but unattached. Small teat to tissue guards #3, #9, #10, #22. Small red stain on tissue guard for plate #33. Final plate does have a tear and bend to left hand side (see photo). Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens recounts the story of young Peter Pan, who, at seven days old, believes that he is part bird. This unwavering surety allows baby Peter to fly away from home, ending up in Kensington Gardens. It is here that a crow informs Peter that he is not a bird, but is a human. This revelation causes the boy to lose his ability to fly and he becomes stranded. Peter becomes acquainted with the fairies who live in the garden and agrees to play flute in exchange for help getting home.
