New Haven, CT: Yale University Library, 1955 An excellent study of the important records of the activities, travel, exploration, and fur trade development efforts of this important, and somewhat controversial, early fur trader and explorer. Peter Pond, a native of Connecticut, spent many years on the northern Mississippi and throughout western Canada in the 1760's-1780's. One of 500 copies housed in a slip case, with the 3 maps present in a separate paper chemise. Quarter linen colored cloth over brown paper covered boards, gilt title to spine. Slight darkening to the spine of the book, else near fine. Slip case is VGPlus - Maps Near Fine. Please feel free to inquire for item specifics or additional photos.
