Orig. half leather, spine gilt (slightly rubbed). Zurich, Albert Raustein, 1908. First edition of Carl Schroeter's (1855-1939) main work which was internationally recognized. Schroeter was professor at the Federal Polytechnic in Zurich, and co-founder of the Swiss Botanical Society, a pioneer of geobotany. His exploratory trips led him to the USA, Japan, Java, the Canaries, the Sahara, South Africa and India. - Fine copy. - Nissen, BBI, 1813.
