Signed by the author on the half title page, with the added words, "From the Lands Beyond Norton Juster." Also signed by Jules Feiffer, the illustrator. Fine in a near fine first issue dust jacket which has had some light expert restoration to the extremities. "This book has been described by Naomi Lewis as ‘the best original modern book in the Carroll line’" (Carpenter & Prichard, 409). Anyone with an appreciation for the language and irony of Alice in Wonderland will consider this witty adventure a classic. The novel begins with a miserably bored lad who exclaims that "there is nothing for me to do, nowhere I'd care to go, and hardly anything worth seeing." Suddenly a tollbooth appears in his room, and, having no other interests, the lad Milo drives through it and sets off in his toy car for a mythic journey.
