About This Item
Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1918. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Poor. 8vo. Publisher's yellow cloth illustrated and lettered in black. Edges of cloth a little darkened, pages 33-40 with short tears in the fore-edge margins, not affecting the text. In the original dust jacket which is taped at all the inside edges, with heavy loss around the edges and some poor early restorative work in black marker to some of the edges that appear to have been heavily rubbed. It appears the dust jacket was printed for the Canadian edition and bears the Thomas Allen name at the foot of the spine, with Houghton Mifflin Co. appearing just beneath it printed on a small piece of paper under a strip of early clear tape. Rare in the dust jacket. With 20 black and white illustrations.
