About This Item
London: Unpublished, 1955. No Binding. Fine. (25x20cm) Large format vintage photograph showing a regal-looking Olivier playing Richard III in the 1955 film. This is a gloss finish stamped proof 'Ref LO/47' and was owned by Olivier himself, probably dating from the 1970s. From youthful success Olivier went on to become the preeminent actor of his generation, defining the great Shakespearean roles of Hamlet and Henry V for mid-century Britain. This is one of several photographs currently offered by Modernfirsteditions to have come from Lord Olivier's personal collection. Fine 1955
