About This Item
The aristocratic German-Ameican writer cranked out a string of popular biographies often on music and entertainment figures, starting with "Phantom Crown: The Story of Maximilian & Carlota of Mexico" (1934) and concluding with "Concerto: The Glowing Story of Clara Schumann" (1961). PS, 8½" X 10½", n.p., n.y. Very good. Faint original folds. Publicity leaflet for a Harding appearance before the "Woman's Forum" and featuring a large half-length publicity pose of her at center, undated but likely 1940 since it notes "Forum Members on 1939 Card" and mentions her 1940 third book "Golden Fleece: The Story of Franz Joseph and Elizabeth of Austria." Announces that Harding will give a talk, "From Montezuma to Maximilian" on April 11; verso filled with biographical text about her. In a light area at right of her portrait, she boldly pens "Most cordially -- Bertita Harding.
