An eclectic and even eccentric anthology edited with some originality by Michaell Dibdin who contributes a number of introductory sections. Covers the whole range of crime writing with writers inside and outside the genre. There are e.g. extracts from Brecht, Chekhov, Faulkner, Kafka, Zola etc. as well as the usual crime writers. .
