London: Piper & Carter, 1869. First Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good. Fully titled "Pictorial Effect In Photography. Being Hints On Composition And Chiaroscuro For Photographers. To Which Is Added A Chapter On Combination Printing.". First edition (1869) published by Piper & Carter, London. Contains three tipped in photographs and numerous sketches and engravings. One of photography's classic treatises and quite scarce, especially in this condition. Our copy, as pictured, has cracked inner hinges at both front and back to list as faults but the bindings remain firm and intact. Frontispiece is missing original tissue guard. Green boards present very well.
