The story of the birth, rise and fall of Cobb and Co and what the Coaching Age was like. Four enterprising young Americans headed by Freeman Cobb introduced the revolutionary Concord coaches to Australia's unmade goldfield tracks, brought coaches to areas beyond the railheads and by the 1880's the coach network was the most extensive in the world. 219 pages with nearly 190 illustrations of which 30 in colour. Book in very good condition ex library with stamps on first page, title page and last page and some wear to bottom edge of cover. Dust jacket in very good condition in clear wrapper with sticker on spine and back. This is a large book but no increase in postage in Australia.
