About This Item
New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1974 First edition, published the year before the UK edition. HB. Red cloth with brown cloth spine, gilt title and decorative border to spine, and dustjacket designed by Warren Chappell (as well as the tyopgraphy and binding). 193pp. With a foreword by Spencer Curtis Brown. A collection of Elizabeth Bowen's writings, including the beginning of her last novel, published postumously. a Very Good book, in Very Good jacket, now in clear removable sleeve. Jacket has small losses to back edge and corners and light wear to spine ends. The book has clean covers , stain mark to top page edges: this had faded one part of the green tinted top edges and the green pigment has carried down as a small light stain on the top margins of all pages- but fairly lightly. A nicely designed book.
