Boards lightly soiled, corners & edges rubbed through in a few spots, spine ends beginning to fray. Front hinge loose w/ front endpaper nearly detached. Internal binding firm, contents lightly & uniformly toned, otherwise quite clean, images sharp. xxvi, 288 p. of illustrations, with titles in English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian, map. "The monuments photographed have been, and will be further dealt with in detail by the author in his works 'Die baukunst und religiöse kultur der Chinesen' ... and 'Chinesische architektur (in preparation)."
