Good - rebacked and with new endpapers/no dustwrapper. 8vo. b&w engravings The scarce 1st Edition (later published in the US as ""The Hog?."" 1850's) of Youatt's treatise on the pig, referencing zoological definitions, early history, wild boar, swine in America, Scotland etc, anatomy, diseases, feeding, piggeries, and including notes on curing ham, pickling pork, salting; b&w frontispiece engraving with tissue-guard, illustrated title page, b&w text engravings throughout by William Harvey; original cloth boards with blind-embossed swine to front and rear, and with like decorative borders; this copy re-backed in tan cloth retaining original gilt titling, new endpapers; original prelims and text block foxed, light-medium foxing throughout, corners of boards knocked and with some wear, o.w. Good.
