James R. Osgood and Company, Boston, 1871. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Green cloth stamped in gilt; beveled edges, brown pastedowns and endpapers. The volume is lightly edge rubbed and the gently toned spine has a vertical crease running its length. The interior is in excellent condition with lightly toned leaves, and an erasure and small (1/16") abrasion on the front endpaper. The author served as a personal assistant to president Lincoln and was a Secretary of State in the administrations of McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt. This collection contains " and "Jim Bludso of the Praire Belle".
