The classic 17th Century Christian novel by John Bunyan is paired with Izaak Walton's brief biographies of John Donne and George Herbert, which also appeared in the 17th Century. With introduction and notes, tissue-guarded sepia frontis portrait of Bunyan, another tissue-guarded illustration and a facsimile of an arrest warrant issued against Bunyan for preaching to a non-Anglican group. One from a rather scarce version of the series, "The Harvard Classics" as published by P. F. Collier, edited by Charles W. Eliot. --- In dark red buckram cloth-covered boards with titling and Harvard crest, and Charles Eliot's facsimile signature in gilt on the cover; gilt-stamped spine titling. TEG (top edge gilt), other edges deckled and with dark red ribbed endpapers. Lacks a dust jacket. --- A Good-only copy, with conspicuous dulling to spine titling and general sunning & chafing to cloth. With tears to paper at front gutter, otherwise textblock is intact and intact.; Small Octavo (7-1/2 to 8 in. tall); (4), 426 pages .
