Hardcover with dustjacket, "This famous novel, first published in 1934, is based on the sensational Thompson-Bywaters murder case of 1923, which ended with the conviction and execution of Mrs. Thompson and her lover for the murder of her husband," book is in excellent condition, a bit of softness to the top edge of the spine is the only remarkable flaw and we stand by our rating of "Fine," the jacket has some mild edge-wear but is otherwise clean and attractive, the original price (8.95) is present and a professional (removable) mylar cover is included, the front panel of the jacket shows Francesca Annis as Julia Almond in the BBC television production of this novel .
