Book has slightly bumped and worn corners, light foxing, modest cover wear, previous owner's bookplate has been removed. First issue with 35 colored illustrations by Greenaway housed in a cloth case. What makes this copy unique is that the original owner H. W. Bruton, a noted collector of children's books, inserted an etched frontispiece by George Cruikshank in autograph proof state. .
