Norval Richardson (1877-1940), author and former United States diplomat, wrote a number of popular thrillers in the pre-WWll era; Pirate's Face, a well-written romantic adventure, was among the most popular and is hard to find today. He in died in October 1940 in Bermuda of a heart attack at the age of 63 after escaping Nazi-occupied France.
