A Near Fine copy with previous owner name on flyleaf in a Very Good plus unclipped dust jacket with a chip to the heel of the spine and minor edge wear. This copy is signed by MacDonald on the flyleaf. This is an uncommon copy of Betty MacDonald's sympathetic account of the patients, nurses and well-meaning 'outsiders' that she encountered while undergoing treatment for tuberculosis in a sanitorium.
