About This Item

(New York): Smithmark, 1998. First Edition. Hardcover with dust jacket. Near Fine/Very Good. Charles Jones. Squarish 4to. Pp. 128. Frontis. black & white photo. Preface by Alice Waters. Illustrated throughout with black & white photographs by Charles Jones. Bound in grey cloth with gilt lettering printed on spine. Clean throughout. In the photo-illustrated dust jacket that shows slight wear, mostly at head of spine. The work of Jones is a curious combination of still-life study combined with photo portraiture; inasmuch as his subject is fruits and vegetables, Jones elevated produce to a near-fetishistic status. Dust jacket is now preserved within a clear, removable archival sleeve.
