About This Item

London: Cape, 1970. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. First edition. One corner moderately bumped, considerable foxing to the foredge, in some cases impinging a little on the text margins of a few pages, a near very good copy in very good, price-clipped dustwrapper with modest wear. Advance Review Copy with slip laid in indicating that this copy was sent to *Financial Review*. Sixties jacket illustration by Martin Sharp. Although a foldout poster game "Headopoly" is supposed to be in a pocket attached to the rear pastedown, this copy has a notice pasted over the pocket noting that the poster game has been removed because of a Prohibition Notice by the Australia Department of Customs and Excise. A book about the politics of play as a youth movement weapon, by the publisher of the Australian, and later English, counterculture magazine *OZ*.
