The title page states the titles but in fact the book has different plays to those stated , it has the country wife 105PP. The Rehearsal as it is now acted at the theatre Royal , by George , lthe bate Duke of Buckingham. to which is added a key or critical view of the authors and their writings expos`d in this play. Lond printed for J Brindley, book seller in new Bond st, S Birt , C Hitch, T Osborne , T Waller, C Corbett, R New, 1755 fifteenth edition 59 pp. plus the Key that critical view of the authors 24pp. The way of the world a comedy, written by Mr Congreve, printed for J Tonson, sold by W Feales at Rows head the corner of Essex st the Strand London 8299. Love for Love A comedy, written by Mr Congreve printed by J & R Tonsen & S Draper London 106pp. each play has an engraving with a scene from the play, the Congreve title pages have a vignette of him in an oval frame. Bound in contemorary calf with raised bands gilt title and embelishments to the compartments now all very faded git ruling to the outside of the boards hinges `weak and starting but holding well. Nice book plate of Sir John Reade. Please see our book no 003629 for a matchingly bound volume by Mr Congreve , Mr Wycherley, Richard Steele, Sir John Vanburgh . First Edition Thus. Full Brown Calf..
