About This Item

(New York): Random House, Inc, 1977. Very good plus.. First edition, first printing of this increasingly outrageous tale of what the future may hold for a young boy. "When OCTEMBER gets here, / no work! And no school! / We'll build you a playhouse! / We'll build you a pool!" It can be hard to wait for the excitement that the future may bring, particularly when it holds "the day on which all your most outlandish wishes and dreams can come true:" the FIRST OF OCTEMBER! This is the only collaboration between Theodor Geisel (AKA Dr. Seuss) and artist Art Cumings, who also created cartoons for PENTHOUSE magazine. 9'' x 6.5''. Original color pictorial boards. Blue and white patterned endpapers with book synopsis. Illustrated in color. No jacket as issued. [20] leaves. Binding with light bumbing to corners and spine ends, mild scuffing. Leaves with a couple small spots of soil. Sound and bright.
