The Copp Clark Publishing Company, 1958. Hardcover. Very Good +/very good +. Book provides a "reconstruction of the visit of the singer, Jenny Lind, to the town of Chatham, Ontario, in 1851. In need of a rest from her concert tour, the singer commissions the use of the steamer, Ploughboy, for a trip from Niagara Falls through Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair up the beautiful valley of the Thames River to Chatham. Jenny Lind, also known as "the Swedish Nightingale" was a very popular opera singer in the 1800s. Flat-signed by author on title page. Tipped-in illustration of Chatham, Ontario at front of book. Full colour portrait of Jennny Lind on front of jacket by Mme. Heloise Leloir. Tight binding. No chips, tears, creases. Price written on rear paste-down endpaper. Dust jacket has some light edgewear. Size: 8vo (8" to 9"). 304 pp.
