Published by Folio Society, 2010. 1st thus edition.. Hardback. Very Good. Illustrated by Rooney, David. Very good condition with no wrapper. A four volume set based on the Dryden Translation and edited by A.H. Clough: The rise of Classical Greece; The Age of Empire-Builders; From Kings to Consuls; The Age of Caesar. Biographies of Green & Roman figures. Introduction by Tom Holland. Red cloth boards with gilt decorations and titles. B/w plates. Volume I has a small piece of paper/label stuck to front board, also a minor stain to lower edge and vertical edge of text block. Else, a lovely set contained in publisher's slipcase which has some minor shelf-scuffing.
