About This Item
1799 Ossian Poems SCOTLAND Irish Mythology Ancient Poetry Fingal Macpherson 2v
James Macpherson was a famed 18th-century Scottish poet who is best known for creating a series of 'ancient poems' by a fictional figure named Ossian. In 1761, Macpherson claimed he discovered a manuscript of an epic poem on Fingal, written by Ossian, Fingal's son. 'Temora', one of Ossian's many poems, is considered the second volume, or sequel to his epic poem 'Fingal'.
