Toronto, Canada: Oxford University Press, 1946. Winner of the 1946 Governor General's Literary Award for Poetry. Inscribed, dated (February 1972) and signed by author on fly title page: "Charles and Louise from Robert". Also signed by author on title page. Faint pencil erasure mark on fly title page, top front edge lightly faded, edges of wrap where they extend beyond contents lightly creased, else near fine. Wrap darkened along top edge, lightly chipped at ends of spine, lightly wrinkled and chipped at ends of flaps, 1/2 inch closed tear on rear lower edge, lower corner of front flap folded back on itself, else very good. Protected in mylar. Note by author laid in: "Charles and Louise, A copy of my first book of verse and of my latest one, with my affectionate regards, Robert - February 15 72".. Signed by Author. First Edition. Soft Cover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
