An anthology of William Cowper's poetry, complete with two volumes bound in one. Cowper was a famed English poet and hymnodist. He was a great influence on the eighteenth century nature poetry as he focused his writings on the every day life and scenes from the English countryside.This volume comprising various poems by Cowper, such as ''The Task', 'Table Talk,' 'Hope,' and many others.With a frontispiece and four plates of engravings. In half calf binding over marbled boards. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, lightly rubbed to extremities. Front free endpaper was excised. Staining mark to title page and lower outer corner last few leaves of vol. I. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting scatted to leaves and occasional handling mark. Very Good Indeed
