Active in the Liberal Party, Pesado served in a number of government positions in addition to his work as a poet and novelist. He is also known for his efforts to translate Aztec poetry and songs into Spanish, to bring alive the literature of pre-hispanic Mexico. This work, following the poet's Prologo, is divided into three parts: Rimas Amorosas, Poesias Morales, and Poesias Sagradas, plus four compositions which are imitations or translations of Alfonso de La-Martine. xi + 240 pages + Indice + Errata. .
