Gall & Inglis. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Good ; No jacket. Gall & Inglis, n.d., ca. 1880. Hardcover has red cloth-covered boards with beveled edges. Front cover has stamped design in black & gold with white shield-shaped central panel & 'GOLDSMITH' in green. Decorations include leaves, flowers, & an urn. Spine has gilt lettering & decorations similar to cover. Back has simpler blind-stamped design. Book is somewhat canted. All page edges gilt. Covers have light surface & edge wear. Spine ends frayed, with about one-eighth inch of top missing. Spine darkened; gold rubbed. Corners bumped & rubbed, with boards visible at tips. Pastel yellow endpapers. Bookplate with name in ink on front endpaper. Different name in ink & trace of old price on front free endpaper. Six engravings in steel All text pages have a linear border in red. Binding solid, with front hinge lightly pulled & a 1-inch split starting at the top of the endpaper on the front board near the hinge. Pages clean & unmarked. 560 pages. No dust jacket.
