Phila PA: E.E Butler, 1858. Not Stated, No Addl. Printings . Hardcover. Good+/No Jacket. 1858, no additional printings, "elegantly illustrated," all edges are gilt. The hard cover purplish board are edge beveled, lavishly blind stamped and lettered in gilt. Some mild abrasion is present, especially at the head/foot of spine, dark endsheets have very minor scars. Book measures 8 X 5 5/8 The text is attractive if age darkened, illustrations are enchanting though they have in some cases transferred to adjacent blank sheets (no tissue overlay was used) and the sheets have some rather trifling foxing. The book is a very handsome object, now stored air tight in acid free sleeve.
