First Edition. 8vo (14 x 20cm). pp. xxvi, 311, seventy-five illustrations, engraved by Samuel Williams from drawings by John Absolon. Contemporary green full polished calf bindings with 5 raised bands to the spine, elaborate gilt decoration; gilt ruled lines to board. Binding very good with some general rubbing, pleae see images. Contents clean and tight, all edges with bright gilt, no spotting, prize plate dated 1862 to the front free marbled endpaper, otherwise unmarked, no inscriptions. A very good tight and handsome copy in a prize binding..
