London: G. Routledge & Co., 1857. Stated fourth edition. Title page dated 1857. Handsomely bound in full red grained leather lettered and extensively decorated in gilt, slightly raised spine bands, all edges gilt, tilt tooled inner dentelles, full page black and white illustrations, book about 6.5 inches tall. Modest edge rubbing, spine a little darkened, hinges secure but with surface cracks at the endpapers, binding firm, pages clean with just a few minor instances of light foxing (age speckling), name neatly written at top of front free endpaper, tiny personal library label of W. West, Maidstone, at upper corner of front pastedown, no other markings.. Hard Cover. Good. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
