About This Item

London: George Bell and Sons, 1901. Hardcover. Very good. The Aldine Edition of British Poets. 12mo, two volumes: clxxxvi, 212 p. + xiii, 409 p. with frontispiece portraits. In elegant one-half burgundy morocco over decorative paper bindings by James MacDonald (New York), with Art Nouveau designs stamped in gilt, five raised bands, and matching endpapers. Period previous owner's ink signature and date ("December, 1905") to a prefatory blank leaf in each volume. The spines are darkened just a touch, with some light rubbing along the extremities; otherwise very good.
