London: Macmillan and Co, 1898. Hardcover. Good. Second edition, revised. xxi, 111pp. Blue cloth, gilt-stamped spine. Some offsetting and pencil marginalia on a couple of pages and owner's name penned on title, front hinge starting, gash in front board and bleached areas on rear board, spine ends and corners worn and bumped, good only without dustwrapper. Laid in is a typed and Signed letter dated June 2, 1971 from journalist and author George Seldes to his niece the Tony Award winning actress Marian Seldes, along with some newspaper clippings. He sends this book as a gift for his niece stating "... it is a second - but it is bound and printed like the first and may be a rare book - - at any rate it is the first and still the best statement on tragedy...
