About This Item

London:Faber and Faber Limited, 1942. First Edition. hard cover. Very Good/Very Good. http://www.parnassusbooks.com/image/data/books/2020/01/0_img_6443.jpg. London:Faber and Faber, Limited. (1942). 1st edition. 192pp. Hardcover with dust jacket.  Orange boards clean with light shelfware along edges and spine ends. Page edges soiled. Internally a previous owners bookplate attached to inside front board, but otherwise pages clean although slightly age toned. The dust jacket is lightly soiled and worn along edges, with some chipping to spine ends.  Overall, a very good clean copy.  *"This anthology is unique in that it is not an antholgoy of 'war poems', but a collection of the best poems written since the beginning of the war -- some of which are also 'war poems'. While some well-known poets, such as Herbert Read, Stephen Spender, and George Barker are represented, the majority are members of a younger generation not yet known to the general public."...dj

About Parnassus Book Service

Ben Muse began selling books from the former Knowles General Store in 1959. Now in our third generation, we are a famiy-run, general book store selling new and old (often rare) books as well as issuing specialty catalogs on a variety of subjects: Americana, Latin America, Maritime, Art, the Orient and a variety of other subjects. If you can't find what you are looking for here on the web, please contact us directly at our Yarmouthport shop -- or better yet stop by to browse and talk. We look forward to seeing you.
