Fine condition. Clean blue-green top-grain leather boards with gold decoration on front and rear cover and spine, raised ribs on spine. No bumping or wear. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound. All text block page edges are gilt. Clean marbled endpapers. No previous owner markings. Flat-signed by the author in blue ink on the blank fly leaf. Art work by Scott Reynolds was specially commissioned by The Franklin Library for this first edition. Sewn in ribbon page marker. 387 pages. Polar Star is a 1989 crime novel by Martin Cruz Smith, set in the Soviet Union in the late 1980s. It is a sequel to Gorky Park and features former militsiya investigator Arkady Renko, taking place during the period of Perestroika..
