Previous owner's name on following page, but otherwise clean and unmarked, with solid hinges and binding. Text block sound; pages toned.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Book 4 in the Polly Pendleton series. Polly Pendleton is a resourceful, wide-awake American girl who goes to boarding school on the Hudson River some miles from New York. By her pluck and resourcefulness, she soon makes a place for herself and this she holds right through the course. The account of boarding school life is faithful and pleasing and will attract every girl in her teens. Barse & Hopkins, 1918.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dorothy Whitehill wrote several series of books for girls in the early part of the 20th century. In addition to the Polly Pendleton series, she wrote The Page Twins series and the Joyce Payton series.

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR: Charles Lewis Wrenn (1880 - 1952), was an illustrator and portrait painter.
