New York: Arrow Publishing Company, 1916 Hard cover with dust jacket, 8 vo., in green cloth with gilt titles, green stained edges to text block, 236 pp., plus 2pp. adverts. "With a Reminiscence and a Forward by George Jean Nathan. Frontispiece photo of the author. Eleanor Gates (1874-1951) was an author, journalist and dramatist, and this was her most famous work. Seven of her works were staged on Broadway. She founded the first woman-owned film production company, the Liberty Feature Film Company, in 1915. Poor Little Rich Girl, starring Mary Pickford was released in 1917, one of the two films the company brought out. (Shirley Temple would reprise the role in a1936 re-make.) Condition: Near Fine. No foxing. Bright and tight. Dust Jacket is Very Good, showing some darkening and wear to spine, and minor soiling. Unclipped.. First Theatrical Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine /Very Good.
