This book is ex-libris and has a pasted on discard paper on the ffep. There are two lines blackened out at the bottom of the title page. On the back of the cover page of the dj something else has been blackened out at the top of the page. 221 pages, including an index, a bibliography, appendixes, a preface, acknowledgments and ten chapters. Although nearly vanished and nearly forgotten, Port Hudson, Louisiana, holds a distinct place in our nation's past. Located seventeen miles by road north of Baton Rouge, the village was the last Confederate stronghold on the Mississippi River and the site of the longest genuine siege in American military history. The dj has been attached to the book by the library and is in quite nice condition. A highly serviceable copy; available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box.
