New York: Crown Publishers,, 2017. First edition, deluxe issue, signed on the half-title by the 43rd president as issued. The book collects 66 portraits painted by Bush of members of the US military, all of whom he has personally known and who have served since 9/11. Bush is a keen amateur artist. Each portrait is accompanied by the story of the veteran depicted. Quarto. Original white cloth, spine lettered in brown, covers with reproductions of artworks by Bush, red endpapers. Housed in original blue cloth slipcase. With colour illustrations throughout, and folding four-panel mural, all after artworks by Bush. Very slight rubbing to slipcase, else a fine copy.
