Ashbee was unique in his time for his American connections and was an important influence on the American Arts and Crafts Movement. Folio, purple silk-covered boards with design in gilt, silver, pink and white, incorporating cross, crowns, fleurs-de-lys and roses. Endpapers in dark blue silk with repeating design of rampant lions. Fine. Designs and type are of the English edition and are the work of C. R. Ashbee.
