About This Item
This Set of two Volumes is a Collector's good fortune. This Set is designed with dark green covers with gold lettering that has a matching slip case for storage and safe keeping. The slip case with the two Volumes accounts for 4.25 inches of width. Volume I of this Set begins with President George Washington and ends with Benjamin Harrison's loss to Grover Cleveland in 1892. Volume II begins President Grover Cleveland and ends with Harry Truman. Both Volumes give the reader an account of the planning for the White House during George Washington's Administration and all successive remodeling and expansions. More importantly, perhaps, the Author leads us through each President's time in the White House, their family and personal life, as well as the social gatherings and impact of the First Ladies. Together, both Volumes contain 1,224 pages and 121 illustrations.
