About This Item
NY: Tor, 1990. 1st Edition . Soft cover. Very Good+/No Jacket. Odd format, printing history for this early novella by Varley. I take it to be the first book appearance (albeit paperback double format-other title Silverberg-Hawksbill Station) full number line. The '1st hardback' seen on-line is a later BCE, from 1996. This originally appeared in Asimov's SF mag, Davis '84. The BCE hardcover from '84 is likely a bad re-slugging of the printing history, as far as I can tell this is the first appearance after the Asimov. The Hardcover is SF book club 1st HC for '96, likely showing original Asimov/Davis copyright. Glad to be corrected here but the history is misleading, as is often the case with early work by prominent authors getting initial magazine publication only.
