London: Bertram Park [and] Yvonne Gregory, no date [1934]. [English Theatre] ELEVEN ORIGINAL PRESS PHOTOGRAPHS. Seven 22 x 17cm; four 19 x 26cm. Black and white photographs on glossy photographic paper, each with the photographer's studio stamp to reverse. Glue marks to reverse of each photograph. Seven by Gregory and four by Park, each set being a uniform size, with light handling only. Near fine. A selection of press photographs from a star-studded production of Shakespeare's 'Hamlet' in 1934, directed by John Gielgud, and staring himself in lead role, supported by Jessica Tandy as Orphelia, Jack Hawkins as Horatio, Glen Byam Shaw as Laertes, George Howe as Polonius, Geoffrey Toone as Fortinbras, Anthony Quayle as Gildenstern, Richard Ainley as Rosencrantz, Frank Vosper as Claudius, Laura Cowie as Gertrude, and a young Alec Guinness in a minor role.
