Red cloth with gilt titles to spine, one or two small marks to front cover else near fine. The book was a presentation copy from the author to Sir Edward Ford, private secretary to George VI " To Edward Ford from Roger and Sibell, Dec. 1949, May he notice and forgive the description, at once elegant and charitable, of his colleagues which will be found on page 219". The reference is marked in the text and runs "The prince may be pardoned for having sought to break down the appointments of those handsome, polished, aristocratic nullities with which the Court abounded-those husks of men as they were once cruelly called.".. Signed by Author(s). First, 2nd Impression. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.
