This book on the POWs of Japanese in World War II is the product of 10 years of documentary research and hundreds of interviews with surviving POWs, the last remnants of the over 140,000 Allied prisoners of which 25% would die from preventable diseases at the hands of the Japanese for which the japanese Government even today refuses to admit mass atrocities against POWs. Another 25% of those held captive were killed by friendly fire ordered by GEN MacArthur. This book tells a heartening story of an army's struggle to survive against incredible odds. A clean very presentable copy.
