Koffan studied in Paris between 1934 and 1939 and won a gold medal at the 1937 World's Fair. As a summary of his French period, he published his bibliophilic volume "De Profundis (From the Deep)" in only 115 copies. Gachot, Francois (1901-1986) was a French writer and diplomat living in Hungary between the two wars.
