Dust Jacket condition: Very Good hardboard slipcase with gold pastedown of title and author on cover and spine. Illustrated throughout with b/w original drawings by the author. 84 pp. Clean, like new crisp leaves on faux parchment. The only marking is a prior owner dedication on the front free endpaper. The book is divided into chapters dealing with love, marriage, children, giving, eating and drinking, work, joy and sorrow, houses, clothes, buying and selling, crime and punishment, laws, freedom, reason and passion, pain, self-knowledge, teaching, friendship, talking, time, good and evil, prayer, pleasure, beauty, religion, and death. It is one of the best selling books of all time and has never been out of print. The condition of this book is pristine and gift worthy.
