About This Item

[Mt. Vernon, NY]: The Golden Eagle Press, [1949]. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Good. The first separate printing of Cumming's poem "Puella Mea," originally published in book form in "Tulips and Chimneys." Apparently a variant binding, with rose-colored rather than the blue-gray paper over boards noted in entry A22 of George James Firmage's "E. E. Cummings: a bibliography." Unpaginated (~ 20pp.). Printed in rose brown ink and illustrated with drawings by Klee, Picasso, Modigliani, Kurt Roesch, and Cummings. Lightly sunned to board extremities, spine mildly cocked, else very good in a good jacket, weakened along hinges and with a 1/3" chip at base of spine and small chips at top of rear panel and corners.
